Margaret Thatcher 'a great leader' says Falklands veteran Simon Weston

Falklands veteran Simon Weston says Margaret Thatcher was a "great leader" and "decisive" despite not being "everyone's cup of tea" following the former prime minister's death.

She sent a naval task force to retake the Falklands islands in 1982, which had been invaded by Argentina.

Mr Weston, a former Welsh Guardsman, was badly burned when the Sir Galahad was destroyed in the conflict.

He suffered 46% burns on his body and underwent 70 separate major operations or surgical procedures during a slow recovery.

Mr Weston said she was clear and decisive as a leader during the war, and on the international stage.
