Ladies of Llangollen poems at auction

Two rare poems written by the famous Ladies of Llangollen are to be auctioned.

Lady Eleanor Butler and Sarah Ponsonby, aristocrats who eloped from Ireland in 1778, settled in the Denbighshire town amid great controversy.

The signed pieces are thought to be the first ever to come up at auction.

Sarah Easedale reports from Plas Newydd, their home for 50 years.
