Eurovision times in 2004 for James Fox

The last Welsh act to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turkey in 2004, was Cardiff-born James Fox. His song 'Hold on to our Love' finished in 16th place.

Ukraine's 'Wild Dances' by Ruslana Lyzhichko' was the winning song.

Fox was born James Richard Mullett on the 6 April 1976 in Cardiff. He grew up in Gilfach, Bargoed in the Rhymney Valley.

His professional career began at age 15 in a rock band touring south Wales working man's clubs.

In 2003, he took part in the BBC's Fame Academy and took the stage name James Fox. He came fifth but the experience presented him with new career opportunities such as the Eurovision Song Contest.

In 2008 Fox wrote and recorded the Cardiff City's FA Cup Final song, "Bluebirds Flying High".

Both his Eurovision entry in 2004 "Hold Onto Our Love", and "Bluebirds Flying High" in 2008 became Top 20 chart hits.
