Type 2 diabetes rise in under-40s, says Cardiff research

The number of people under 40 diagnosed with type 2 diabetes has risen sharply over the last 20 years.

Research by Cardiff University shows those with the condition has gone up by 270%.

The university says the problem has been made worse by poor diets and an increase in the number of obese people.

It comes as the latest survey paints a stark picture of the health of the nation.
