Leanne Wood: Hospital services 'must remain close to patients'

Plaid Cymru leader Leanne Wood has criticised plans for major changes to some hospital care in south Wales, claiming services such as A&E need to be close to patients.

A major shake-up for specialist services, including A&E, will be announced later by five health boards in south Wales.

Officials believe some services are spread too thinly and should be centralised in four or five hospitals instead.

They include accident and emergency and care for premature babies and children.

Ms Wood spoke to Bethan Rhys Roberts on BBC Radio Wales.
