Actor Damian Lewis opens Aberglasney mansion restoration

The actor Damian Lewis has officially opened the latest phase of restoration work at Aberglasney Mansion in Carmarthenshire.

The Emmy-award winning star, whose father is Welsh, opened the ground floor of the 500-year-old building. The Grade ll listed mansion's east wing and main hall are the latest sections to be repaired.

Lewis, a star of the hit series Homeland and Band of Brothers, has followed the restoration project closely.

The opening of the restored ground floor comes 14 years after the gardens near Llandeilo opened to the public.
