The Woodland Trust in Wales: 5,000 Welsh trees need protection

Thousands of Wales' ancient trees are under threat from pests and diseases.

The Woodland Trust in Wales says more than 4,200 of our most treasured trees - some of which have survived for more than a thousand years - face regular problems from diseases like Ash Dieback.

It is calling on the Welsh government to help private landowners conserve them.
