Resigning health chair Prof Merfyn Jones accepts criticism
The chairman of Wales' largest health board is to resign following a damning report.
An investigation found "significant management failings" at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) that potentially risked patient safety.
The board runs NHS services across north Wales with a budget of around £1.2bn and 16,500 staff.
A report found the board's chairman, Prof Merfyn Jones, and his chief executive were not able to work together.
The board's chief executive, Mary Burrows, is also to stand down.
Prof Jones said his own resignation was "appropriate".
He spoke to BBC Wales' health correspondent Owain Clarke.
