Gwent Police Commissioner: Force 'better off' without police chief

Gwent police commissioner Ian Johnston says the force is "in a better place" since Chief Constable Carmel Napier stood down.

His comments to the area's police and crime panel came as he was asked to appear before MPs next week.

It follows his admission that he told the former chief constable to "retire or be removed".

Jordan Davies reports.
