Jillings report: The 'battle' for care abuse truth to be revealed

The "battle" to get a report carried out into abuse in children's homes across north Wales in the 1970s, '80s and early '90s has been revealed by a former council leader.

The Jillings report was suppressed in 1996 amid fears that it might lead to claims for compensation from victims, or to libel suits from adults named in the report.

It has finally been made public 17 years after it was initially shelved.

Dennis Parry, who was leader of the former Clwyd County Council and who commissioned the report, describes the "battle" to get it completed.
