Ex-Sony boss Sir Howard Stringer on Welsh 'spiritual home'

The Welshman who recently retired as the boss of Japanese electronics giant Sony says he is proud of the success of the company's factory in Pencoed, Bridgend.

Sir Howard Stringer, who was president and CEO for eight years before standing down in June, said the entrepreneurial spirit of the staff there had ensured it prospered during the economic downturn.

He also said Wales was his "spiritual home" and shared memories of family holidays to Barry Island.

BBC Wales business correspondent Nick Servini spoke to him during a visit to Swansea University, where he was awarded an honorary degree.
