Josephine Sowden's English video wins eisteddfod art prize

The National Eisteddfod's decision to award its £5,000 fine art prize to a video filmed in English has been called a "dangerous precedent" by a Welsh language campaign group.

Josephine Sowden's film shows the artist on a beach, covered in mud, and muttering short bursts of English dialogue.

The judges were gripped, awarding her the fine art prize.

But Dyfodol i'r Iaith (A Future for the Language) has criticised the decision.

BBC Wales arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas reports.
