Bridger 'shouldn't be able to appeal' April's gran says
April Jones' grandmother says Mark Bridger should not be able to appeal against the whole life sentence he received for abducting and murdering the five-year-old schoolgirl.
Bridger, 47, was convicted in May of killing April, from Machynlleth, Powys, after she disappeared from outside her home on 1 October 2012 while playing with a friend.
He was given a whole life tariff for what the court heard was a sexually motivated attack after evidence emerged of graphic child sex abuse images on his computer and images of local girls.
The judge branded him a pathological liar and a paedophile before sentencing him.
Bridger is seeking permission to appeal against the whole-life sentence.
Linda Smith told the BBC's Mark Hutchings: "I know that the law says he's allowed to do this but I really hope it doesn't happen."
