Deaf man, 80, treated like he had dementia, watchdog finds

The NHS in Wales is still struggling to get the basics right when communicating with patients who are deaf or hard of hearing, a charity claims.

It comes as a complaint was upheld against the Aneurin Bevan health board after it treated a patient as if he had dementia when he was actually deaf.

Action on Hearing Loss Cymru is warning this was not an isolated case.
