Abertawe Bro Morgannwg neglect review families' concern

Families of patients at two hospitals in the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Health Board area have accused the health minister of going back on a promise to review past standards of care.

Last October it was revealed the Princess of Wales in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot Hospital would be reviewed after the death of 82-year-old Lilian Williams from Porthcawl, who, her family said, was neglected.

Mrs Williams was admitted to Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend, and Neath Port Talbot Hospital four times from August 2010 to November 2012, when she died.

Her family said she was left dehydrated and she failed to receive adequate care while at hospital.

The Welsh government said it is likely the review will cover the period of Mrs Williams' care.
