South Wales NHS: Changes 'not even right for Cardiff', Rhondda MP says

Plans to centralise some hospital services in south Wales will result in more patients going to Cardiff, claims Rhondda Labour MP Chris Bryant.

Mr Bryant said he planned to fight the reorganisation plans which would see some services moved from the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant, which is used by patients from the Rhondda.

The area's health board, Cwm Taf, rejected a key recommendation of the plan relating to A&E, specialist care for mothers, newborn babies and children, and has come up with its own options.
