MPs Owen Smith and Alun Cairns clash over NHS

The Welsh government's decision to cut NHS funding in recent years may be responsible for a "striking" and "disproportionate" lengthening in NHS waiting times an influential new report has claimed.

However the research, by the Nuffield Trust and the Health Foundation, also suggests there is no evidence that the Welsh NHS, on the whole, is "lagging behind" any other part of the UK.

Health Minister Mark Drakeford says it proves there is no basis to the recent criticisms levelled at the Welsh NHS by Conservatives in Westminster.

Owen Smith, Labour MP for Pontypridd and Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, and Alun Cairns, Conservative MP for the Vale of Glamorgan, discuss the issue with Mia Davies on BBC Radio Wales.
