Strata Florida abbey's 850 years of history

It is 850 years since the first Cistercian monks journeyed through medieval Wales and established Strata Florida abbey in Ceredigion.

Today, the monument which is sometimes known as the Westminster Abbey of Wales, is in the care of Cadw and is seen as one of the most spiritual places of great historical significance.

Rachael Garside explores the turbulent history of the abbey, recent archaeological discoveries, and its role as a place to visit.

There is more about Strata Florida in Country Focus on BBC Radio Wales at 07:00 BST on Sunday.
