Carwyn Jones backs Cynon Valley women shortlist

First Minister Carwyn Jones says he backs an all-women shortlist for Labour in the Cynon Valley parliamentary seat.

It follows a row between the party and local organisers over the process to replace Ann Clwyd, who is standing down as an MP.

The Labour party says her replacement must be a woman but local members say they want the right to select the best candidate, irrespective of their gender.
