Skomer Island: Funding fears for Guillemot research

Funding cuts could impact conservation work on Skomer Island in Pembrokeshire, it has been claimed.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has scrapped £12,000 funding for a long-term study of the island's 50,000 guillemots.

Experts have said wider bird research in its place will be less comprehensive, but NRW said it was trying to understand every element of the island's environment instead of concentrating on one.

BBC Wales' environment correspondent Iolo ap Dafydd reports.
