Anti-smoking message 'not getting across,' GP warns

Doctors still face an uphill struggle persuading their patients against smoking, says a senior Welsh GP.

Dr Ian Millington, a GP in Swansea and secretary of Morgannwg Local Medical Committee, spoke as paediatricians warned too many women are still smoking while pregnant.

The warning comes as the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) unveils its first report on the causes of child mortality in Wales.

Wales has higher rates of pregnant women smoking than other UK nations.

Dr Millington spokes to Felicity Evans at BBC Radio Wales.
