Doctor Who meets fans at Cardiff red carpet premiere

Stars of the cult sci-fi TV show Doctor Who greeted fans at a red carpet event in Cardiff before the first episode of the new series was given its world premiere.

Peter Capaldi, making his full debut as the twelfth Doctor, was joined at St David's Hall by Jenna Coleman, who plays his companion Clara.

Capaldi, who has been working on set in Cardiff this year, said: "It's so nice to finally meet some of the fans."

He added: "Unfortunately, I have not been able to get to see enough of Cardiff because most of the time I have been in the studio but everyone has been so friendly here.

"It is a fantastic place to work. Our crew, who are mostly Welsh, are absolutely stunning."
