Gresford mining disaster anniversary marked by services

Memorial services are being held near Wrexham on Monday to mark the 80th anniversary of the Gresford colliery disaster.

On 22 September 1934 266 men and boys died when an explosion ripped through a section of the mine.

Relatives of those who died gathered at the memorial on the site where the former colliery stood for a service of remembrance.
