Flood victim Margaret Hughes, 91, 'refused to leave home'

The family of a 91-year-old woman who drowned in severe flooding at St Asaph two years ago has said they believe police officers were told more than once she had refused to leave her home.

But following an inquest into Margaret Hughes' death, the coroner said he did not believe those messages ever got through.

The case has prompted a major overhaul of emergency evacuation procedures.
