'Encouraging' hospital spot checks - chief medical officer
A series of spot checks at 20 hospitals across Wales found "no systemic issues of concern", according to a report prompted by criticisms of elderly patient care.
However medicines management on wards needed improving, it said.
The spot checks were ordered after a report following the neglect of Lilian Williams, 82, at two hospitals.
Investigators looked at medicine delivery, hydration, continence care and night-time sedation on 70 wards.
Chief medical officer Dr Ruth Hussey said there were "lovely examples of good practice" while areas of concern were being acted upon.
