Murco's Swiss deal 'was not possible,' executive says

Murco tried to find a buyer for its Pembrokeshire refinery for four years, even extending the deadline for the Swiss group whose bid to land the site has since failed, according to a senior executive.

American owners Murphy Oil said it had "no choice" but to use the Milford Haven site solely for storage and distribution with "a significant number of redundancies".

Murco UK operations vice president Bryan Kelly said a deal with the Swiss-based Klesch Group was not possible.

He spoke to Aled Scourfield.
