Dylan Thomas prize: Young authors up for £30k award

It is the biggest prize of its kind for young writers, and the winner of the £30,000 International Dylan Thomas Prize will be announced at a ceremony in Swansea on Thursday evening.

There are seven authors on this year's shortlist, all of them under 39 - the same age as Thomas when he died.

They include the Welsh writer Owen Sheers and Booker prize-winning novelist Eleanor Catton.

BBC Wales' arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas has been speaking to them.
