Tornado like 'roaring lion' Pembrokeshire resident says

The sound of a tornado ripping through a street in Pembrokeshire was like a "roaring lion" one terrified resident has said.

Paula Barnes told BBC Radio Wales it was "30 seconds of pure hell" when the whirlwind struck 19:00 GMT on Tuesday in Haverfordwest.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue said 24 homes in the town were hit.

"We thought the windows were going to come in at one point because the hail was hitting them so hard," Ms Barnes said.

"We then went out to the back and noticed next door's shed was in the street and... that's when we thought we better ring the fire brigade."
