Rorke's Drift letter on display at Royal Welsh museum

The earliest known account of the one of the most famous battles in British history has gone on display in Powys.

The letter recalls the defence of Rorke's Drift - the moments immortalised in the film Zulu.

The letter now being shown to the public in Brecon reveals just how intense the fighting was on that fateful day in 1879.

It has been bought by the Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh.

Carwyn Jones reports.
