Firefighter Suzanne Parry urges more women to sign up
Retained firefighter Suzanne Parry has urged women interested in joining the fire service to give it a try as the south Wales service launches a drive to encourage more to sign up.
The service has just 20 women firefighters out of 838, and Rhondda has one of the lowest number of retained female firefighters.
It said that was because some people believe it is not a traditional female job.
It said it wanted to change attitudes and promote it as a valid career for women.
