Play about the life of rugby player Gareth Thomas opens

A play about the life of Wales rugby star Gareth Thomas opens on Thursday, produced by National Theatre Wales.

Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage tells the story of former captain "Alfie," who won 100 caps for Wales before coming out as gay.

He told BBC Wales arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas that it was an honest and emotional portrayal - as well as being about his home town of Bridgend.

The play opens at the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff and runs until 7 March before touring in Aberystwyth, Bethesda, Aberdare and Bridgend.
