Circulation figures: Papers 'going to be in trouble'

Average newspaper circulations in Wales have continued to fall, according to latest industry figures.

However, publishers have seen significant increases in the numbers of people using their online news sites.

Figures compiled for ABC show the Western Mail's circulation has dropped below 20,000 for the December and January.

The South Wales Evening Post remains the most popular printed paper with an average circulation of 27,589.

Dr Andy Williams, Cardiff University School of Journalism believes papers are going to be in trouble in the future if losses from print advertising are not made up by digital adverts.
