Pembrokeshire welder welcomes Swansea tidal lagoon plan

A worker at a Pembrokeshire company has welcomed the Swansea tidal lagoon project, saying the more work there is in Wales, the better.

One of the companies who would look to bid for work on the scheme is Ledwood which took a hit from the closure of the Murco oil refinery.

At its height, the company had 1,000 workers but now employs 200, with the workforce cut as a knock-on from the refinery shutting down.

Welder Craig Wheeler, who has to work away with the firm where the work is at the moment, told BBC Wales economic correspondent Sarah Dickins that he would look forward to being able to find work closer to home.
