£4.4m Glamorgan cricket debt written off by Cardiff council

Cardiff council has written off a £4.4m debt owed to it by Glamorgan Cricket Club.

The club's main creditors, which includes the council, have been asked to write off about 70% of its debts.

Cabinet members approved the proposal on Thursday.

The council said the redevelopment of the Swalec Stadium was part-funded by loans from creditors including themselves.
