Seal filmed salmon fishing on Chepstow's River Wye

A seal has been filmed fishing for salmon on a river in Monmouthshire.

It was caught on camera on the River Wye beneath Chepstow bridge, as vehicles passed overhead, after swimming about two miles inland from the tidal River Severn at Beachley.

It was filmed from the Afon Gwy pub's beer garden by Ben McCarthy, 19.

His father, Joe, said: "The Wye is a good salmon river. You can see the salmon jumping. The seal is eating well."

A seal has become a regular in the waters and last year was spotted at Monmouth.
