Fears new housing law will force ex-prisoners onto street

Concerns have been raised that changes to housing law could see more ex-prisoners becoming homeless in Wales.

Former prisoners no longer automatically qualify for emergency accommodation on release, under the new Housing Wales Act, introduced in April.

Charity Shelter Cymru said it was "very concerned" more would now end up on the street.

The Welsh government said the new legislation focused on preventing homelessness.

John, 26, an ex-prisoner, spoke to BBC Radio Wales reporter Louise Day.
