Cerys Yemm's mother wishes death memories 'a nightmare'

The mother of a 22-year-old woman who was killed by a homeless prison leaver said she wishes her memories were a nightmare.

Cerys Yemm was killed at a B&B in Argoed, Caerphilly county, by Matthew Williams, 34, who died after being Tasered by police.

Her mother, Paula Yemm, from Oakdale, said: "It is so unimaginable, you think it hasn't happened."

Previous guests at the B&B where Ms Yemm was killed include 10 sexual and violent offenders, the BBC has learned.

Mandy Miles, owner of the Sirhowy Arms, said, according to her records, the council sent a number of serious ex-offenders to her without warning her or the wider community of the potential risks.

Caerphilly council said it considers risk assessments before sending ex-offenders to temporary accommodation.
