250 jobs show Merthyr Tydfil is 'going places', says MP

A £390m deal to assemble and service armoured fighting vehicles in Merthyr Tydfil is further evidence the town is "going places", according to the local MP.

Gerald Jones, the MP for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney, was responding to news that 250 highly skilled jobs will be created.

A former fork-lift site will be taken over by General Dynamics for the work.

Mr Jones told BBC's Good Morning Wales that factors such as the dualling of the Heads of the Valleys road and the availability of land, meant more companies are now investing in the area.
