Dawn raids lead to nine arrests in gold burglary probe

Nine people have been arrested after dawn raids in north Wales in connection with the theft of gold jewellery.

The arrests in Wrexham, Flintshire and the North West of England come after Asian gold was targeted in a spate of burglaries over the past five months.

More than 100 officers from North Wales Police and others from Cheshire, Greater Manchester and West Mercia police forces were involved in the operation.

They searched a total of 18 addresses, with the majority in north Wales.
