End-of-life campaigner's wish for suicide law change

A former north Wales town councillor diagnosed with terminal cancer is the latest Briton to travel to an assisted dying centre in Switzerland.

Bob Cole, 68, travelled to the Swiss facility on Wednesday from his home in Chester.

His wife, Ann Hall, died at the Dignitas centre in Zurich last year.

Mr Cole, who had been a Blaenau Ffestiniog councillor in Gwynedd, was a vocal campaigner on calls to change the laws on assisted dying in England and Wales.

Mickey Charouneau from the campaign group Dignity in Dying said he came to know Mr Cole well in the last year.
