Relief for monkey sanctuary after chimpanzee's CT scan

A chimpanzee has been given a clean bill of health following a CT scan at Swansea University.

The 34-year-old former circus chimp, Bili, was taken to the Institute of Life Sciences after a lump was discovered under his chin.

The primate was recued from poor conditions in Bulgaria and now lives at the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary in Abercrave, Swansea Valley.

Sanctuary trustee Jan Garen said everyone had been "frantic with worry".
