Swansea doctor's concerns over changing assisted dying law
Concerns about changing the law on assisted dying have been raised by a Swansea doctor.
Dr Idris Baker, a consultant in palliative care at Ty Olwen Hospice, Morriston Hospital, believes there should be a greater focus on "living with dignity".
He said the assumption that people's quality of life will get worse when suffering with a debilitating illness "is not so".
His comments come after a former town councillor in north Wales travelled to Switzerland to end his life.
Bob Cole, 68, who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, died at Dignitas on Friday afternoon.
