'Grasp biomass deal with both hands', says councillor

A £2bn deal to build biomass plants in north and south Wales is fantastic news which "should be grasped with both hands", an Anglesey councillor has said.

The investment by Chinese firm SinoFortone will see hydroponic and aquaculture centres built alongside the plants in Anglesey and Port Talbot using the heat they generate to produce prawns and vegetables.

Anglesey councillor Jeff Evans said the 500 jobs planned for Holyhead were particularly welcome after 450 jobs were lost at the Anglesey Aluminium plant three years ago.
