Organ donation: Skater Richard Taylor remembered as law changes
Extreme sports star Richard Taylor died after a freak accident near his home in Barry in 2004,
An internationally acclaimed inline skate champion, he had just won the Big Air title at The BRITS skiing championships having only taken up skiing a few months before.
Richard, 23, was out skating with friends when he was seen to lose control after clipping a pavement kerb - it is likely a knee injury he was recovering from played a part - and crashed into a concrete lamp post.
As an organ donor he saved the lives of two people and helped three others. His family welcomed the law change in Wales on 1 December 2015 allowing for deemed consent.
