Mining legacy being lost to austerity cuts, archbishop says

The legacy left by miners such as community facilities are disappearing because of austerity, Dr Barry Morgan has said.

The Archbishop of Wales said he believed austerity will continue with "the poorest in our communities suffering the most".

He said when he looks back to his own childhood, miners fought to build community halls and libraries.

Speaking to BBC Radio Wales' Sunday Supplement, he said their disappearance because of budget cuts "does something to the soul of a society".
