Tata steelworkers join industry-wide protest in Brussels

"Quite a lot" is already being done by the European Union to help the steel industry, a European Commission vice-president has said.

Thousands of steel workers - including dozens of Tata employees from Wales - are demonstrating in Brussels on Monday in support of their ailing industry.

They are pressing for the commission to tackle cheap Chinese steel being "dumped" across Europe and said it was about protecting jobs and the survival of their industry.

Jyrki Katainen, vice-president with responsibility for jobs and investment, told BBC Wales business correspondent Brian Meechan it was a wide-ranging problem.
