Tata: Business Minister Anna Soubry welcomes bid interest
The UK business minister has welcomed the prospect of a management buy-out for Tata Steel's UK businesses, including the giant Port Talbot site.
The plant's director Stuart Wilkie is set to launch a management buyout of the company's UK operations.
He spoke with First Minister Carwyn Jones on Wednesday about the plan, which will require support from UK and Welsh governments.
Anna Soubry said she welcomed all bidders.
She said keeping the blast furnaces at Port Talbot open was going to be difficult but "that's really what should be at the very heart of any future for Tata Steel in the UK".
