GHA Coaches collapse: 'Nobody saw it coming'

Drivers and staff at a north Wales bus company say they are in a state of disbelief after the firm went bust, with the loss of 320 jobs.

Ruabon-based GHA Coaches operated 230 vehicles on school and bus routes across north Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.

The firm sent text messages to all its staff on Tuesday evening telling them the company had ceased trading.

Administrators broke the news to the workforce at a meeting on Wednesday morning, confirming that bus operator had folded.

Councils across north Wales have put urgent contingency plans in place to cover routes GHA serviced, including school buses.
