Soapbox derbies: Wacky racing revived in Wales

Soapbox derbies have been making a comeback across Wales this summer.

Successful events have been held in Haverfordwest and Fishguard in Pembrokeshire alongside an already established event in Penarth, Vale of Glamorgan.

The Downhill Derby has been held as part of the Penarth Summer Festival since 2009.

It was the idea of Keri Hutchings, deputy town clerk of Penarth council, who said it was a "phenomenal success immediately".

The footage shows the soapboxes in the 2015 race.
