Corbyn must win back people's trust, says Owen Smith

Newly elected Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn must focus on winning back the trust of the electorate, his challenger Owen Smith has said.

Mr Corbyn has won his bid to retain the Labour leadership, defeating the Pontypridd MP.

The Labour leader received 61.8% of the vote - a larger margin than 12 months ago.

Mr Smith congratulated his opponent, saying he won a decisive victory, but added: "Now is time for all of us to work to take Labour back to power."
